In addition to being a broker/dealer registered with the SEC and more than 30 jurisdictions throughout the United States, Kimball
& Cross Investment Management Corp. is also registered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a
Registered Investment Adviser ("RIA").
Our business principles as an RIA and the investment
advisory services we offer are consistent with our business
history as a broker/dealer for more than a century – from a fee-based account alternative to comprehensive solutions for investment and manager selection, our advice is based on each client's individual needs, goals, and risk preferences,
while being intensely focused on providing a consistent, high level of service, resulting in differentiated, client-specific solutions.
For clients seeking the most comprehensive portfolio strategy possible, modern portfolio theory serves to greatly influence the investments and/or managers we recommend. Whether from your Kimball
& Cross representative or a third-party manager, a portfolio strategy proposal helps to explain the logic behind our recommendations and perhaps its greatest value is in helping investors to maintain discipline in applying the strategy when events become most challenging.
SEPARATE ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
When working with our partner, Eqis Capital, clients typically receive deeply diversified asset allocations comprised of nine separately managed equity and one fixed income portfolios, all of which are consolidated onto a single platform in a single account with aggregated online reporting. Usually equity portfolios include six different domestic styles and three different international regions.
Through our collaboration with the client, the combination of portfolios is completely customizable, though Eqis Capital provides recommended allocations based on the client’s individual needs, goals, and risk tolerance.
Clients whose assets are managed in separate accounts own equities directly so they can utilize customized tax strategies, such as tax loss harvesting, to increase after tax returns.
